Lucknow: The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (LUIPS) of the University of Lucknow successfully organised “Health Workshop 2025” , aiming to enhance medical awareness among students, researchers and faculty members. The workshop was conducted under the patronage of Hon’ble Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna, with guidance from Dean Prof. Satendra Singh and Director Prof. Pushpendra Kumar Tripathi, whose leadership ensured a well-structured and purpose-driven event.
Senior medical experts from Regency Hospital, Lucknow, were invited as keynote speakers to shed light on critical health issues.
Dr. Alok Kumar Pandey (DM Nephrology) delivered an in-depth session on kidney-related diseases, their early symptoms, preventive measures and scientific treatment options. He explained the vital role kidneys play in eliminating metabolic waste from the body, regulating creatinine levels, and maintaining overall health. He elaborated on the ammonia–urea generation process, through which toxic waste products mix with water and are expelled from the body.
Dr. Piyush Kumar Thakur (DM Gastroenterology & Hepatology) discussed complications associated with digestive and liver disorders, modern therapeutic approaches and lifestyle adjustments necessary for prevention.
The experts highlighted the rising incidence of lifestyle-related ailments such as parenchymal kidney diseases, kidney obstruction, acute and chronic renal failure, fatty liver, gastritis, constipation and diabetes. They emphasised the importance of early diagnosis and timely treatment to avoid severe complications.
The sessions also covered advanced diagnostic technologies, including BTL 2020-based ultrasound endoscopy, new research findings in kidney disease management and clinical data from Pune (2015), showing notable improvements in patients.
The primary objective of the workshop was to equip participants with evidence-based knowledge on contemporary health challenges, scientific disease prevention and healthy lifestyle practices. Attendees actively interacted with the experts, gaining deeper insights into crucial medical concerns.

The workshop recorded the active contribution of Brijesh Singh, who played a key role in supporting the expansion and development of these health initiatives.
Programme Coordinator Dr. Namrata Singh ensured the smooth conduct of the workshop through effective planning and coordination.
